Summary tweaks to degree-of-success indicators in combat messages

Description made many of the degree-of-success messages in combat shorter, focusing them more on attack placement at the high end (since that's what's going on that enhances damage, theoretically), and made forms of the messages that imply more of a broad effect ("catching you in a fair part of the gout" and such) that the system attempts to apply intelligently to the right attack forms
