Summary | changed direct damage mechanism |

Description | Changed a core function that's mainly used at this point for area attack spells and infliction of damage from environmental sources like falling, so that it goes through a mechanism that basically all other damage infliction (normal attacks, special attacks) does at this point, which makes (among other things) raw damage get routed into damage modes like stun, blinding, and so on, according to the configured behavior of the damage types involved. |
Reason | Cohering the behavior of damage inflicted through different mechanisms. |
Result | This *not* happening was, in many ways, a bug that was probably responsible for the overall perception of area attacks being much more lethal than normal attacks (due to damage, usually unintentionally, not being diverted into non-lethal effects like stunning), so that will almost certainly be visibly different. Otherwise, some effects like the imaginary fish bond power nightmare will take effect in more cases than they previously did due to greater systemic integration. |
Version | lib revision incremented to Ain Soph 2.5.6 |
