Summary | gave up on ANSI detection, spewing ANSI now |

Description | after seeing that the ANSI detection didn't work well on a lot of clients, spent some time trying to address that, and eventually gave up, concluding that most telnet clients have utterly halfassed protocol implementations that typically cannot be convinced to enter character mode (which the detection relies upon) in any sane way; decided to just give up and presume an ANSI terminal during the login screen, saying "oh, fine, if a client can't at least *ignore* ANSI at this late date, it can get stuffed"... this saddens me but if detection isn't happening, i don't feel like sticking with gray welcome screens |
Reason | colorfulness |
Result | welcome screens are colorized and spew ANSI at everyone -- if your atman is configured for no ANSI, it'll stop as soon as you enter your name at the prompt |
Version | lib revision incremented to Ain Soph 2.2.407 |
